Sterling Silver Necklaces & Chains — Designer, Layering & Pendant Styles
Chains · Pendants · Stations · Designer
Sterling silver necklaces with the finish and detail of fine jewelry, from $20 plain chains to designer pieces at $2,325. Gabriel & Co. brings the Bujukan collection in silver and silver-with-gold; Lafonn adds hand-set stations, bezel lines and pendants. Plain box, cable and diamond-cut chains start at $20 if you already have a pendant and just need something to hang it on. Every piece is authentic 925 sterling.

Chain Length and Layering
Length is what makes a necklace work or sit wrong, and it is the hardest thing to judge from a photograph. Sixteen inches sits at the base of the neck. Eighteen falls just below the collarbone and is what most people choose. Twenty reaches the top of the chest, and twenty-four and longer reads as a statement or a layering piece.
If you are building a stack, space the lengths at least two inches apart so each piece keeps its own line, and vary the chain weight rather than repeating the same one. A fine cable chain, a slightly heavier link, and a pendant at the longest length is a combination that holds up through a day of movement. Bring in what you already own and we will build the stack with you at the counter.
Plain Sterling Chains From $20
If you already have a pendant and just need something to hang it on, the plain chains here start at $20: box, adjustable box, round cable, diamond-cut cable and curb, in a range of weights and lengths. All authentic 925 sterling, not plated.
Chain weight matters more than people expect. A heavy pendant on a fine chain will stretch the links and eventually break at the bail, so bring the pendant in and we will match it to a chain that can carry it. That takes two minutes at the counter and saves a repair later.
Gabriel & Co. and Lafonn
Gabriel & Co. is our best-selling brand, and the silver collection here is largely Bujukan: sculptural beaded goldwork carried into sterling, and into silver-with-gold pieces that reach $2,325. Designed in their New York atelier in recycled gold and silver, with the same design language behind their bridal work, which is why the silver reads more considered than most fashion silver at the price.
Lafonn works differently. Their white metal is sterling silver bonded with multiple layers of platinum and finished with rhodium; the yellow and rose styles are sterling plated in gold using Lafonn's TR Gold process. Stones are their proprietary Lassaire simulated diamonds alongside lab grown and genuine gemstones, rather than natural diamonds. That is what puts the sparkle and the finish within reach at fashion-jewelry prices, and it is worth understanding before you compare a Lafonn piece against a natural diamond necklace. We will show you both and explain exactly what you are looking at.
Keeping Silver Looking New
Sterling silver tarnishes, and chains tarnish faster than most pieces because the links trap moisture against the metal. It is a surface reaction rather than damage and it comes off completely. Store chains flat in a pouch or a closed box instead of open air, take them off before swimming, and keep perfume and lotion away from the metal.
Bring anything in whenever you like and we will clean it. Free cleaning is open to every customer for as long as you own the piece, whether you bought it here or not. For upkeep between visits, our jewelry cleaning kit is made for sterling silver at home.
Chains break, and clasps wear out. Our master jewelers solder links, replace clasps, and shorten or lengthen chains right here in Oceanside, on pieces from anywhere. When a chain is too fine for a repair to hold we will say so rather than take the work. See what else we handle on our jewelry repair page.
