The MICHELE Story
Three Generations of Watchmaking
MICHELE's story begins in 1940s Belgium with Maurice Barouh, a master watchmaker who passed his craft to his son Jack. Jack worked in the watch and diamond trade in Latin America before founding MICHELE in 1995 and naming it for his daughter. The brand started as a line of colorful children's watches, became a runaway hit, and moved to Miami as it expanded into women's timepieces. In 2000 it launched the Deco, and the square case that still defines the brand.
MICHELE operates under Tempus International Corp., the company Jack Barouh founded, which Fossil Group acquired in 2004 — giving the brand global distribution while keeping the Barouh family at the design helm. Michele Barouh joined the family business in 2000 and today serves as Creative Director. Swiss quartz movements power watches across several MICHELE collections.
The brand is built on one principle: designed exclusively for women. Proportions, weights, dial sizes, and details are all engineered for the female wrist, with a bold style that works equally in a boardroom and on a Saturday in the city.

Where SVS differs from chain stores and department-store counters is what happens after the purchase. Our In-House Watchmaker, Tony T., handles routine MICHELE service on premises — battery replacement, often same-day, plus link adjustment, band swaps, and clasp fitting. For warranty work and full mechanical service we coordinate directly with MICHELE, so you avoid international shipping and warranty risk. We service MICHELE watches bought elsewhere too.
Every MICHELE purchase includes free signature SVS gift packaging and free standard shipping on orders $75+, with free 2–3 day priority at $300 and free overnight at $599. Same-day curbside pickup in Oceanside and same-day delivery across Nassau County for $25 flat, on orders placed by 3pm. Qualifying purchases are eligible for showroom financing. The MICHELE international limited warranty applies to every authentic piece purchased from an authorized retailer.
