The G-SHOCK Story
The Watch Built Not to Break
G-SHOCK began when Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe dropped the mechanical watch his father had given him and watched it break. He set out to build a watch that could survive a 10 meter drop, resist water to 100 meters and run 10 years on one battery. It took more than 200 prototypes before the answer came: a shock-absorbing structure with the movement floating inside a hollow case. The first G-SHOCK, the DW-5000C, launched in 1983, and that square silhouette still lives on in today's DW-5600.
Choosing Your G-SHOCK
G-SHOCK, G-STEEL, Baby-G and EDIFICE
G-SHOCK is the original resin watch, in digital and analog-digital styles like the DW-5600 and GA-100. G-STEEL puts the same shock-resistant build in a metal case, with Tough Solar and Bluetooth on many models. Baby-G is the smaller, more colorful line for women and smaller wrists. EDIFICE is Casio's analog dress and chronograph line in stainless steel; it is a different watch from G-SHOCK, and it is not built to G-SHOCK's shock-resistance standard. Water resistance and power source vary by model, so check each watch's details.

Free standard shipping on orders $75+, and shipped orders placed by 12pm Monday through Friday leave the same day. Free curbside pickup in Oceanside with no minimum, Monday through Saturday. A G-SHOCK Store You Can Walk Into
Try G-SHOCK on in person at our Oceanside showroom, a short drive from Queens and across Nassau County, including Long Beach, Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Baldwin, Merrick and Garden City, as well as Suffolk County. We are open Monday through Saturday, with Thursday evenings until 8pm, and we ship nationwide.
