How MOVA Works
A Globe That Turns on Its Own
MOVA Globes were invented by Bill French and brought to market with Shaw Lin through their San Diego company, TurtleTech Design. A hidden mechanism of solar cells and magnets uses the energy of ordinary indoor light and the pull of the earth's magnetic field to turn the inner sphere, which floats inside a clear outer shell. Set it under normal room light and it rotates slowly and silently, day after day, with nothing to plug in or replace. Keep it out of strong direct sun, which can fade the graphics.
