How much does a watch battery replacement cost, and do I need an appointment?

Watch battery replacement at SVS starts at $15 and is done while you wait. No appointment is needed. Walk in any day we are open, Monday through Saturday, at 3323 Long Beach Road in Oceanside. Every battery is guaranteed for one year, and if your watch is water resistant we can pressure test it at the time of service.

How long does it take to repair my watch?

Most routine work, including battery service, link sizing, gasket sealing and crystal replacement, is completed same-day or within a few business days at our Oceanside bench. Complete mechanical overhauls take two to four weeks. Vintage restoration and factory-coordinated luxury service can take three to six months depending on parts availability. You receive a written timeline estimate before any work begins.

Do you service Rolex watches?

We size Rolex bracelets and replace crystals and gaskets at our Oceanside bench. SVS is not a Rolex repair facility, so movement service and repairs on a Rolex are coordinated through an authorized Rolex service center. SVS Fine Jewelry is an independent jeweler and is not an Official Rolex Jeweler or affiliated with Rolex SA. Rolex is a registered trademark of Rolex SA.

Do you repair Omega, TAG Heuer, Bulova and Seiko watches?

Yes. Sizing, crystals, gaskets and batteries for Omega, TAG Heuer, Bulova, Seiko and most everyday brands happen at our Oceanside bench. Watches under manufacturer warranty, or needing movement work that requires factory parts, are coordinated through the brand's authorized service center so your coverage stays intact. Every watch starts with a free in-store evaluation.

Can you repair my watch under manufacturer warranty?

Watches under active manufacturer warranty must be serviced through the brand's authorized service center to preserve coverage, so we do not perform warranty work in-house. We do coordinate the entire process for you: free in-store evaluation, packaging, secure shipping, and tracking through completion. You drop off once and pick up once.

Are your replacement watch batteries guaranteed?

Yes. Every battery installed at SVS is guaranteed for one year. If your battery fails within 365 days, stop in and we will replace it at no charge. We use premium batteries from major manufacturers, and our turnover rate keeps stock fresh.

After you replace the battery, will my watch still be water resistant?

Opening the case for a battery replacement can compromise water resistance. If your watch was originally water resistant and you want to preserve that, request a pressure-chamber water resistance test at the time of service, which is $15. If your watch passes, you receive a 120-day water resistance warranty. Without testing, we cannot guarantee water resistance after the case has been opened.

Can you change the battery in my Seiko Kinetic or Citizen Eco-Drive?

Yes. Seiko Kinetic and Citizen Eco-Drive watches use a capacitor, sometimes called a power cell, to store energy generated by motion or solar power. We replace these capacitors in-house, and most Seiko Kinetic and Citizen Eco-Drive service is completed same-day or within a few business days.

My watch is running fast or erratic. Can you demagnetize it?

Yes. Mechanical watches that sit near phones, speakers or magnetic clasps can become magnetized and start running fast or erratically. We demagnetize watches in-house at our Oceanside bench, and we check timing after so you know whether the watch needs further service.

How long does the warranty last after a complete watch service?

A complete service at SVS comes with a 24-month limited warranty covering the work performed. Partial services, such as a battery replacement alone, do not include a service warranty, though every battery is independently guaranteed for one year. Owner damage, accidental damage, and misuse are not covered.

Yes. We purchase pre-owned watches in our Oceanside showroom and offer fair market value based on the brand, model, condition, and current resale demand. Book a sell appointment, bring in your watch and any original paperwork, and we will provide a no-obligation offer on the spot.

How will I know when my watch is ready?

We call and text you the moment your watch is ready for pickup, and walk you through the work performed when you collect it. For factory-coordinated services we update you at each stage: when the watch ships to the manufacturer, when it arrives, and when it returns to our showroom.
