Yes, we do carry original parts, internal and external. Most manufacturers use parts which are made by an outsourced company, so a crystal for a Omega can be produced side by side with a crystal for a Hamilton. For many repairs a generic part is all that available, this option would be as similar to the original as possible at an affordable price.

Yes, all of our batteries are guaranteed for a 1 year after installation! If your new battery dies before 365 days pass, please stop back in and see us. At SVS Fine Jewelry, we replace so many batteries that we constantly replenish our stock. The rapid turnaround rate means that our batteries don't exhaust their shelf lives in our showroom. That said, watch batteries have a life expectancy of approximately 1 year. When a watch stops working in less than a year, this often indicates a movement issue instead of another battery problem.

As stated above, our watch batteries are guaranteed for 1 year. If yours stops working within that time frame, stop into the showroom and we replace it again for FREE or issue you a credit for a new battery in the future. Occasionally, we attempt to replace a battery in our showroom and discover an unrelated or underlying defect. We will not proceed with any further maintenance until we obtain your approval via phone or email.

The lifespan of the initial battery is always the longest but after it's first change you should be getting at least one year. If your watch battery is lasting less than this, bring it in let us take a look to see if something deeper is going on.

Opening up the watch case for battery replacement may compromise your watch's level of water resistance. If this feature is important to you, then we suggest paying for a water testing at the time of service ($15). We will put your watch inside of a high tech pressure chamber that monitors air pressure inside the watch case.  In the event that your watch fails the test, it will continue running properly; however, it won't be able to withstand the elements. We will of course present you with an estimate to bring back your watch to its original factory specs if possible.  If your watch passes the examination, we will issue a 120 day warranty applicable to its water resistance. Many modern watches are designed to meet various levels of water resistancy. Even if your watch was manufactured to that standard, the seals that establish water resistance need to be maintained. The gaskets and seals that keep the watch watertight, dry and decay over time allowing moisture to penetrate the case. It is imperative to change those seals in any watch that is exposed to excessive moisture on a regular basis.

Seiko Kinetic and Citizen Eco-Drive watches do not use silver oxide or lithium batteries like other watches. They use a capacitor sometimes called a 'power cell' or 'secondary battery' to collect energy generated by the spinning weight on a Kinetic or the solar cell in an Eco-Drive. We specialize in replacing the capacitors in these watches.

No, unfortunately, we cannot. When you have a watch under warranty, the warranty house sends those pieces to only specific repair facilities that they regularly do business with. As we are a business to consumer operation, we do not perform work for any watch warranties.  We can, of course, repair the watch for a cost.

We are glad to provide appraisals free of charge with any complete service. The price for an appraisal alone starts at $125 and varies according to the complication of the watch.   We complete a full inspection of the watch and document all of our findings on a certificate suitable for insurance purposes.

Following a complete service, your watch will remain under limited warranty for 24 months. SVS Fine Jewelry’s warranty does not cover owner damage/miss-use of the watch.
