Do I need an appointment to start a custom jewelry project?

No. You can submit your project request through this form and a member of our design team will contact you. If you would rather talk it through in person first, you can book a custom design consultation at our Oceanside showroom or call us at (516) 766-2614.

Can I use my own diamond or an heirloom piece in a custom design?

Yes. Many custom projects at SVS begin with a stone or a piece of jewelry the customer already owns. Heirloom rings, inherited stones and pieces that are no longer worn can all be reset into a new design. Bring the piece with you and our team will talk through what is possible with the materials you have.

Who actually makes custom jewelry at SVS?

Custom work is done in our Oceanside shop rather than sent out. Jorge T. is our Master Bench Jeweler with over 20 years at the bench, and Oscar H. is our Master Setter with over 25 years setting stones. CAD-CAM design is also handled in house. How long does a custom jewelry project take?

Most custom pieces take four to eight weeks from your first consultation to the finished piece, depending on complexity and whether stones need to be sourced. If you are working toward a proposal, anniversary or other date, include it in your project details and we will tell you what is realistic before you commit.

How much does a custom engagement ring cost at SVS?

Custom engagement rings at SVS start at approximately $1,500. Final cost depends on the center stone, the metal and the complexity of the design. You can also use your own diamonds, gemstones or gold in a redesign, which changes the picture considerably.
