What kinds of appointments can I book at SVS Fine Jewelry?

Twelve, in three groups. Consultations: engagement ring shopping, wedding band shopping, general jewelry shopping, and custom jewelry design. At our bench: jewelry repair, watch repair, diamond setting, engraving, appraisals, and the six month warranty check-up. Value and payment: selling gold, jewelry or a timepiece, and financing. Most appointments run 30 to 60 minutes. A watch battery takes 15.

What's the difference between an Engagement Ring Shopping Appointment and a Jewelry Shopping Appointment?

The engagement ring appointment is where we bring out loose stone selections and talk through your timeline, budget, and how the ring gets made. The jewelry shopping appointment is for trying on ring samples and finding your style, though loose stones aren't part of that one. How far in advance should I book an engagement ring appointment?

Two days is ideal, because it gives your specialist time to reach out, learn what you are looking for, and pull stone selections before you arrive. Sooner is fine. Plenty of our bridal appointments are booked the day before, and same week is normal. If you are working toward a proposal date, book the time that works and call us at (516) 766-2614 so we know what to have waiting.

How many people can come with me to my appointment?

Up to four people, including you. Our consultation rooms are private, and four is what they comfortably seat.

Can I book an appointment if I'm not local to Oceanside?

Yes. Engagement ring, wedding band, jewelry shopping, and custom design appointments all offer a phone option. We'll call you, talk through what you're looking for, and set up a virtual consultation so we can work face-to-face online.

Why book an appointment instead of buying an engagement ring online?

Because a photo can't show you how a stone actually looks. In our Oceanside showroom you can compare diamonds side by side under the same light, see how a setting sits on the hand it's meant for, and ask a specialist every question before you commit, including how lab grown diamonds compare to natural in person. SVS has been locally owned in Oceanside since 2003 with more than 2,500 customer reviews, and showroom financing is available.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?

Walk-ins are always welcome at our Oceanside showroom during business hours. Booking an appointment just means the right specialist is expecting you and, for bridal, that stone selections are pulled before you arrive. If you're coming in for an engagement ring or an appraisal, an appointment is worth the two minutes. For a battery, a cleaning, or a quick repair drop-off, come on in.

Is there a cost or obligation to book an appointment?

No. Appointments at SVS Fine Jewelry are free and carry no obligation to buy. Plenty of people come in early in their search just to try things on, learn what they like, and get a sense of pricing. Complimentary jewelry cleaning is also open to everyone, whether you bought from us or not.
