About Melinda Maria

Melinda Maria Spigel is a self-taught designer who started out selling her jewelry one piece at a time to women in line at a Los Angeles Starbucks. She launched Melinda Maria Jewelry in 2005 with her husband, Art Spigel, and built it on one idea: life is too short to wear boring jewelry. Today the Los Angeles brand is worn by celebrities including Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez and Oprah, and Melinda still designs every collection.

What Melinda Maria Jewelry Is Made Of

Melinda Maria gold pieces are 18k gold plated over brass, and silver pieces are silver plated over brass. Earring posts have a sterling silver base, and the jewelry is nickel-free and hypoallergenic unless a product notes otherwise. The sparkle comes from Diamondettes, the brand's simulated diamonds made from high-grade, conflict-free cubic zirconia. It is fashion jewelry, not solid gold or real diamonds, which is how a tennis necklace with this much sparkle stays at a fashion price.

Melinda Maria backs every piece with the MM Lifetime Guarantee: if a piece is damaged or breaks during normal wear because of a defect in material or workmanship, Melinda Maria replaces it at no cost, or offers a piece of equal value if the style has been discontinued.
