A pre-owned Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, reference 15238, in 18k yellow gold, with its original box. The black dial with yellow gold baton hour markers gives solid gold a sharper, more modern edge than the usual champagne. The 34mm Oyster case carries Rolex's signature fluted bezel and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with the Cyclops lens over the date. It is finished on an 18k yellow gold Oyster bracelet with a folding clasp.
Inside is Rolex's Caliber 3135 automatic self-winding movement, the same workhorse caliber that powered the Submariner Date and Datejust for decades. Water resistance is 100 meters. Dating to about 1991, the 15238 belongs to the generation that brought sapphire crystals and quickset date to the Date. At 34mm it sits neatly under a shirt cuff and wears beautifully on a smaller wrist. It is the classic proportion of a gold Rolex.
Includes the original Rolex box. Papers are not included.
