A three stone halo. Two emerald cut diamonds flank a haloed center, set in 18 karat rose and white gold, with a halo of natural pink diamonds around the middle stone. From Simon G's Mosaic Collection. Total weight is 1.89 carats.
What makes it unusual is the center. Rather than one large emerald cut, nine white diamonds totaling 1.01 carats are set together so precisely that the eye reads a single stone. It is the illusion of a much larger center diamond, and it is the reason this ring has the presence of something considerably more expensive. The pink halo around it does the rest of the work, drawing a hard edge that finishes the illusion.
That halo is 0.11 carats of natural pink diamonds. Natural pink is among the rarest colors a diamond occurs in, and finding it used as an accent rather than as a center stone is unusual. Simon G guarantees every diamond in this ring to be 100% natural and conflict-free.
Flanking the center are 0.49 carats of emerald cut diamonds, with an additional 0.28 carats of round diamonds through the shoulders and setting. All of the white diamonds are VS range, F to G color, which is a consistently high grade across every stone in the ring rather than a strong center carrying weaker sides.
The two-tone metal is what makes this ring photograph the way it does. Rose gold sits at the center against white gold everywhere else, and the pink diamonds sit in the rose gold. It is a layered warmth that looks different in daylight than under showroom light, and different again on a hand than in any photograph.
