A 5.01 carat radiant cut diamond set on a pavé shank in 14 karat white gold. Total weight is 5.36 carats. At this size the stone is the entire ring, and the mounting is built to say so.
Radiant is the cut that sits between an emerald and a round. It has the rectangular outline and cut corners of an emerald cut, but it is faceted as a brilliant underneath, so it returns light the way a round does rather than stepping it like an emerald cut. That combination is why radiants hide color and inclusions better than any other rectangular shape, and why they tend to look larger than their weight. This one measures 12.24 by 8.58 millimeters, a length to width ratio of 1.43, which reads as a balanced rectangle rather than a square or an elongated one.
The center stone is a 5.01 carat natural radiant, VS2 clarity, with Excellent polish, GIA report 2231437084, inscribed on the girdle. VS2 at five carats is worth pausing on. Inclusions scale with size, so clarity that is easy to find at one carat becomes much harder to hold at five, and VS2 means what is there needs magnification to see.
Thirty-five hundredths of a carat of round pavé diamonds run down the shank, G to H color, SI1.
There is a reason we are giving you the grades rather than leading with them. A report describes a diamond under controlled light at ten times magnification. It does not describe what a five carat radiant does on a hand across a table.
