Marquise is the shape that covers the most finger per carat. The long pointed outline stretches the hand and makes the stone read even larger than its weight, and at five carats the effect is dramatic rather than subtle. This one measures 15.16 by 8.50 millimeters, a length to width ratio of 1.78, which sits in the range most people find well proportioned rather than stubby or exaggerated.
The center stone is a 5.03 carat natural marquise modified brilliant, L color, SI1 clarity, Faint fluorescence, GIA report 10597516, inscribed on the girdle. The setting is 18 karat yellow gold, and yellow metal is a deliberate choice with a stone graded this way. The seventy-six accent diamonds are SI2, H color.
