A single round brilliant diamond ringed by a circle of smaller stones, set in platinum. It is the Center of My Universe halo, and the name is the design idea: a central stone held by everything around it.
The halo does real work on a stone this size. A 0.70 carat center reads closer to a full carat once the surrounding diamonds catch light with it, so the ring wears larger than its center weight without the price that a one carat center carries. This is the most efficient way to buy visual size in an engagement ring.
The center stone is a 0.70 carat natural round brilliant with a Forevermark Excellent cut grade and Excellent polish, SI1 clarity. It carries the Forevermark inscription 80030198, invisible to the eye, and Forevermark grading report 030001877024. Cut is the grade that does the most work in a round diamond, and Excellent is the top grade on the scale. The halo adds 0.13 carats, for 0.83 carats total.
The mounting is platinum. Platinum holds its color for life rather than needing to be re-plated the way white gold does.
Forevermark has wound down in the United States, so this is from the last of our stock. When these are gone, we will not be getting more.
Currently in size 6.5 and ready to propose with. If she wears a different size, we resize it the same day at our Oceanside workshop by Jorge T., our Master Bench Jeweler, and Oscar H., our Master Setter.
