A single round brilliant diamond held in the Forevermark Icon setting, in platinum. The band arches up into the basket beneath the stone to form the Icon silhouette, which is the point of this setting.
You notice that silhouette from the side rather than the top, and it is what separates an Icon ring from every other plain-band solitaire on a tray. If she is the kind of person who likes a detail that rewards a second look, this is that ring.
The center stone is a 0.70 carat natural round brilliant with an Excellent cut grade and SI1 clarity. Cut is the grade that does the most work in a round diamond — it governs how much light the stone returns, and no other factor substitutes for it. This one carries a Forevermark inscription, number FM-81512361, invisible to the eye and tied to the stone's record.
The mounting is platinum. Platinum holds its color for life rather than needing to be re-plated the way white gold does, and the clean shank means a wedding band sits flush against it without a gap.
Forevermark has wound down in the United States, so this is from the last of our stock. When these are gone, we will not be getting more.
