Stephen Wilson Studio Petite Hermes Pom-Pom Heart, 5" x 5"
The Icon petites start with up-cycled luxury boxes or shopping bags that are trimmed into the background shape, collaged and then embroidered. The embroidery is stitched directly through the actual box itself. Each petite features intricate embroidery stitches that truly make each one unique. Once the background is complete it is padded and mounted. The icons themselves are embroidered using thread, appliqué or yarn and once embroidered are hand trimmed and mounted in relief over the background. The unique color combinations and textures truly make these pieces stand out.
Each petite is framed and mounted in acrylic. Each is unique and signed and numbered on the back. Framed size is 5” wide by 5” high.

He takes the scraps and restores them to their once luxurious status by making them into art. Most of the patterns in the collage are based on vintage quilt patterns. Everything is embroidered and once it comes off the machine, it is meticulously hand trimmed. Every piece is full of amazing intricate detail.
