Secrid is a Dutch family business, founded in 1995 by industrial designer René van Geer and fashion designer Marianne van Sasse van Ysselt — life and work partners running a design agency in The Hague who noticed that the contents of people's pockets were shifting from cash to cards. Their first wallet, the Bodycard, launched in 1995 as a side project. It quietly sold over 700,000 units. Fourteen years later, they reinvented it.
The 2009 Cardprotector — a slim aluminum case that holds up to six cards and fans them out with a thumb-lever flick — became Secrid's signature. The patented mechanism also blocks RFID and NFC signals, meaning your contactless cards can't be skimmed by anyone standing too close. Wrapped in European leather, it became the Miniwallet; doubled side-by-side, it became the Twinwallet. Each line keeps the same satisfying flick mechanism at its center.
