The Signature Shank® — a square base at the bottom of the band, also known as the European Shank — balances the ring on your finger, keeps the center diamond upright, and prevents the ring from twisting. Founded by Abraham Jaffe in New York City in 1892, A.JAFFE is one of the oldest continuously operating bridal jewelry houses in America. Every A.JAFFE engagement ring is hand-finished by master artisans through a rigorous quality control process, with more than 80 hours of work invested in a single ring — and backed by A.JAFFE's lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

No — almost all A.JAFFE rings are sold as semi-mounts, meaning the setting comes complete with all the smaller accent diamonds and gemstones already set, but the center stone is selected separately. A.JAFFE actually manufactures each ring according to the size and shape of the center stone you choose. At SVS Fine Jewelry, you can pair your A.JAFFE setting with a natural or lab-grown diamond from our in-house inventory, all backed by our Price Match Guarantee.
A.JAFFE offers a Lifetime Upgrade program that lets you trade your original A.JAFFE engagement ring toward a new A.JAFFE engagement ring of higher value, for life. A.JAFFE applies 70% of your original ring's full purchase price as credit toward the new ring. The upgrade applies to engagement rings only (you cannot upgrade across product categories), and the ring must have been originally purchased from A.JAFFE or an authorized A.JAFFE retailer — like SVS. Our bridal team handles the upgrade process when you are ready, working directly with A.JAFFE.
Yes — A.JAFFE customizes their settings at the order stage. Most settings are available in platinum, 18K white/yellow/rose gold, and 14K options, and many can be ordered with different center stone shapes, custom shank widths, or hidden diamond accents. Because A.JAFFE manufactures each ring around your specifications, our bridal team facilitates the customization with A.JAFFE directly — confirming every detail before the order is placed so the finished ring arrives exactly the way you envisioned it.
Yes — A.JAFFE offers 100% nickel-safe engagement rings across their collections, designed for brides with sensitive skin or nickel allergies. Platinum settings are also available across all four collections, which are naturally hypoallergenic.

Custom orders from A.JAFFE's workshop typically take a few weeks, depending on the specific style and any modifications.
