Independent Since 1976

RAYMOND WEIL was founded in Geneva in 1976 — a moment when the Swiss watch industry was in crisis. Japanese quartz had just upended a centuries-old craft, and most of Switzerland's storied watchmakers were either consolidating, closing, or being absorbed by larger conglomerates. Raymond Weil chose a different path. He launched his own Maison, named it after himself, and bet that there would always be a market for finely-made Swiss timepieces with personality, craftsmanship, and accessible prices. Fifty years later, that bet has held.

Today, RAYMOND WEIL is led by Elie Bernheim — the founder's grandson and third-generation CEO — making it one of the last independent, family-owned brands in an industry dominated by global luxury conglomerates. That independence shows in the work. Where most Swiss luxury houses now answer to shareholders thousands of miles from the workshop, RAYMOND WEIL still answers to a family that has spent half a century learning what makes a watch worth wearing every day.

Music has been central to the brand from the beginning.
